Teaching & Learning

We recognise students are living in an era where knowledge is constantly changing, and to be well prepared for the future, students need strategies for personal adaptation. Our school has developed five core competencies to help students prepare for the future and become life-long learners.

These are:

  • Global Citizenship: Knowing about and relating to other people, the environment and the world.
  • Collaborative Learner: Knowing how to work with others to achieve a goal.
  • Self-Directed and Reflective Learner: Knowing and thinking about their learning.
  • Effective Communicator: Knowing how to successfully interact with other people, to gather information and express their ideas effectively.
  • Adaptable Thinker: Knowing how to think in different ways to learn effectively and move forward to new challenges.

Children experience significant growth during the period of emerging adolescence. Their successful development during this stage is dependent upon a specific set of needs being addressed.  click here to find out more
