Lauren commenced her teaching career at Belmont Intermediate School in 2009 and has extensive experience across both Year 7 and Year 8 teaching and leadership. Her strong understanding of intermediate learners and the New Zealand Curriculum has seen her play a key role in the induction and development of new and international staff. Lauren is the Director of Curriculum and Assessment at Belmont Intermediate School, responsible for developing and embedding the school’s local curriculum and leading whole-school professional learning. She works as a Curriculum and Practice Coach, supporting teachers and middle leaders through coaching, observation, and professional dialogue to strengthen curriculum design, assessment, and effective teaching practice. Her portfolio includes oversight of student achievement and progress data, the student management system, IT Operations and Digital Safety, and Year 7–8 class placements and student transitions. Lauren is passionate about building leadership capability, creating clarity and consistency in practice, and improving outcomes for all learners.
