Being a host family to an international student is an enriching experience and a great way for your family to learn about another culture through sharing language, food and customs, while learning about another country in return.
Our international students are aged between 10–13 years and come to New Zealand with a range of goals, including experiencing the Kiwi lifestyle, studying within our education system and improving their English.
We welcome applications from families in the local area who speak English at home, have a clean and tidy home, a spare furnished bedroom and a genuine desire to share their family life and culture with an international student. Host families receive $420 per week in 2027 to help cover the expenses of having another person in their family.
