Belmont Intermediate provides opportunities for students to participate in a range of team sports. A sports coordinator facilitates the participation, teams, permissions and uniforms. Trials are held and students are placed in teams appropriate to their level.
Teachers are in charge of teams and parents provide valuable coaching and team managing assistance.

Belmont Intermediate also participates in a range of North Harbour Intermediate School Zone Days where we compete against teams from other intermediate schools from the North Harbour region. There are approximately 10 zone days per term.

A regular house sports competition is also an integral part of a physical activity programme at BIS.
