Specialist classes provide an exciting and often a new learning experience for the students. The class sizes are small to allow for indivdual attention. Students are grouped across their learning teams and are rotated through the various options.

Japanese is taught in full classes. Year 8 learns Japanese for the first half of the year so that students are prepared for the Japanese exchange in the second half of the year. Year 7 learns Japanese for terms 3 and 4. Belmont offers the following specialist subjects:
