Policy

The Principal has delegated authority from the Board of Trustees to staff and manage the school to best achieve the goals of the Strategic Plan.

Implementation of Policy

The Principal in carrying out this authority will:

i.     staff up to the MOE entitlement and not exceed the BOT funding allocated to staffing;
ii.    comply with all relevant employment legislation, including Equal Opportunities legislation;
iii.   comply with all relevant collective agreements;
iv.   monitor staff performance;
v.    ensure each staff member upholds the highest professional standards; and
vi.   promote high levels of staff performance.

Purpose

According to the legislation on employment and personnel matters, each Board of Trustees is required in particular to:

i.    develop and implement personnel and industrial policies, within policy and procedural frameworks set by the Government from time to time, which promote high levels of staff performance, use educational resources effectively and recognise the needs of students; and

ii.    be a good employer as defined in the State Sector Act 1988 and comply with the conditions contained in employment contracts applying to teaching and non-teaching staff.
