Belmont Intermediate has an active and committed PTA. It aims to support BIS by; encouraging parents/caregivers to be involved in the education of their children, providing a link between students, parents/caregivers and the school, raising funds to provide improved facilities and educational opportunities for members of the school community, and promoting BIS wihin the community.  All parents, caregivers and staff are entitled and welcome to participate. Involvement with the PTA is a very positive way to be involved in your child's school, at whatever level you can manage. In addition to the Committee, we are fortunate to have over 70 people on the “Friends of the PTA” contact list. If you can't commit to regular meetings, but would like to offer occasional help throughout the year, here's a great way to be included. The healthy interest already shown is very positive for the school community, and thank you to everyone who is willing to offer a little time every now and again. A small contribution from many makes such a difference!

PTA Activities

Thank you. Many of you have given time, energy and goods. You've helped at events, paid for sausages (thousands of them!) bought tickets (discos, trivia night, raffle) donated items....This is a personal note of appreciation! Calls for help throughout the year were answered, making it possible for the PTA to continue it's role in supporting the school community.

Over $11,000 in donations to school this year included:
Supporting JRock, performed at the Aotea Centre
New, embroidered tracksuits for zone days and sports camps
A fixed data projector and speakers in the library/information centre
Fresh court markings
Crash mats for high jump via funding of over $4,000 from Trillion Trust

Community activities included
The 80's themed trivia night ~ over 130 people from all over the peninsular joined in this night of fund raising fun
PTA hosted the opening of the “Animorphs” exhibition at Splash Children's Art Gallery,
Hosting the Battle of the Bands Heat at BIS, sponsored by Hell Pizza Belmont (thank you Charlene, for donating the pizzas)
