Netball has Belmont Intermediate’s highest participation with over 150 players in 17 teams. The netball season runs during term 2 and into term 3. The competition is organised by North Harbour Netball. All games are played on Thursday afternoons/evenings at the North Harbour Netball Courts, Northcote Road, Northcote between 4.00pm and 6.15pm. The last game finishes at approximately 7.00pm.

The first few games are for grading then the competition commences against other North Harbour Intermediate school teams of similar ability.

Belmont Intermediate employs an independent netball trialist to select players and place into teams of similar ability. Trials are held in early March on the Belmont Intermediate Netball courts. Players must attend trials before being placed into a netball team.

Parents are responsible for the roles of team manager, coach and umpire. We are lucky to have several TGS students that volunteer to coach and umpire for us, however, with such a large number of teams we still require parents. Parents are responsible for transporting players to and from games.

Practice times are at the discretion of the team coach and manager and are held on the Belmont Intermediate Netball courts. All players are required to attend all games and practice sessions.

Players wear a Belmont Intermediate School netball top and skirt, supplied by the school and returned at the end of the season. They provide their own netball underwear (dark blue), sports shoes and white ankle socks. Netball North Harbour request that players do not wear any garments under their uniform that are visible and are very strict on players wearing correct netball uniform.

Costs are approximately $85 per netball season.
