Belmont Intermediate School is a high-performing, multicultural school located on Auckland's North Shore. Attractive, well-maintained facilities and resources are well utilised to provide a wide range of academic and co-curricular activities for students.
The school develops a strategic plan in consultation with the staff, students and community. The annual plan is then set and outlines the goals and priorities in each year. Expectations Belmont Intermediate strongly encourages universal participation of all its students to achieve their best. "Opportunities for excellence" are provided and regularly communicated throughout the year. We expect that all students will participate in some of the varied academic, cultural, sporting and leadership opportunities to support their personal development and growth. The social environment of Belmont Intermediate stresses the importance of respect for each other, the school environment and personal property. Learning best takes place in an environment that is emotionally supportive and physically safe. Students are expected to be responsible for their own actions and show a commitment to the school's core values. All students have the right to learn and teachers the right to teach. Behaviour that infringes on these rights is not acceptable and is dealt with accordingly. The school has clear behaviour-management plans that set out expectations and consequences for inappropriate behaviour. |
