Hockey is played during term 2 and into term 3. The competition is
organised by Harbour Hockey and all games are played at Crown
Relocations, Paul Matthews Drive, Albany (also known as Rosedale Park).
Games are held on Tuesday afternoons/evenings, or Saturday mornings,
depending on which grade your team plays in. Trials for hockey are held during term 1, at the TGS hockey turf, and players are placed into teams of similar ability. Players must attend trials before being placed into teams. Teams are graded during the first few weeks of the hockey season, then competition commences against teams from other North Harbour Intermediate school teams of similar ability. Parents are responsible for the roles of team manager and coach. Parents are also responsible for transporting players to and from games. Practice times are at the discretion of the team manager and coach and are held at the TGS hockey turf. Cost are approximately $100.00 for the season. Players wear a uniform supplied by the school and this is returned at the end of the season. Girls wear a navy skirt with a red and white top. Boys wear navy shorts and a navy and red top. All players must provide their own shorts shoes, knee length school socks (available at Yarntons in Devonport), shin pads, mouth guard and hockey stick.
