The students at Belmont Intermediate School can opt to be involved in any of the three cultural and sporting exchanges which take place each year. The Te Awamutu a takes place in Term 3 and involves eighty students from the respective schools travelling north and south to participate in a range of different cultural and sporting events.
In the middle of the 3rd Term we host students from Onga town in Fukuoka, Japan as part of the Japanese exchange. At the end of Term 3 we send 20 students and 3 staff across to Onga town so they can experience the Japanese language and culture first hand. Part of our co-curricula enrichment programme is to select and send 30 students to a Sports Camp held at Totara Springs in Matamata. This event sees our elite athletes pit their skills against a range of Intermediate schools from around the North Island.
