The Dental Clinic at Belmont Intermediate School provides dental care for all the schools on the peninsula.
Mrs Linda Mitchell, Dental Therapist, looks after the children attending Belmont Intermediate School, Belmont Primary School, Bayswater Primary Schools and pre-schoolers in these areas. Mrs Sandra Lepou, Dental Therapist, looks after the children attending Devonport Primary School, Vauxhall Primary School, Stanley Bay Primary School, St Leos Convent School and pre-schoolers in these areas. The dental therapist, with an assistant, visits the primary school(s) in a Diagnostic Screening Van, where the children currently due for their dental check-ups are examined on-site in the van. An advice form is sent home with the child advising parents of the outcome of this examination. If a child requires dental treatment(s), parents are advised to phone their Dental Therapist at the Intermediate Clinic and make an appointment. Sometimes, more than one appointment may be necessary. The dental therapist is usually booked for up to three weeks in advance, so please book an appointment as soon as possible after receiving an advice form. Once an appointment is made please keep to your given appointment time. Appointment times are during school hours. Intermediate aged children are called to the dental clinic during school hours throughout the course of the school year. Intermediate students may pop into the clinic at any time and see Mrs Mitchell to arrange an appointment if they have a dental problem, alternatively parents may phone the clinic to speak to Mrs Mitchell on 445 6664. Due to the nature of dental work the therapists are not always able to answer the phone. When leaving a message on the clinic answerphone please state clearly your child’s name, the school they attend and your contact details, to enable your therapist to return your call.
