The school recognizes the need to challenge student in all areas to enable them to positively experience new horizons. An extensive co-curricula programme seeks to achieve this.

Education Outside the Classroom (EOTC)

Education Outside the Classroom is an integral part of the class programme. Learning through Physical Education allows students to develop cooperation, problem solving and trust skills.

Sports

Belmont Intermediate provides opportunities for students to participate in a range of team sports. A sports coordinator facilitates the participation, teams, permissions and uniforms. Trials are held and students are placed in teams appropriate to their level.

Core Cultural Groups

Belmont is fortunate to be able to offer expertise across a wide range of cultural activities. Performance is a key focus of the cultural programme and students are encouraged to participate in performance opportunities, from class instrumental performances to competitions for singing, dance, drama and rockbands.

Waterwise

As part of the Teaching and Learning programme for 2009 every class will be participating in a Waterwise Programme. This programme will last for 3 weeks.

Academic Challenges

The students at Belmont Intermediate are provided with an opportunity to participate in a range of academic challenges throughout the year.
Specific training is given to all students who wish to challenge themselves academically and compete against other students both nationally and internationally.

Exchanges

The students at Belmont Intermediate School can opt to be involved in any of the three cultural and sporting exchanges during their two years and BIS.
