Belmont Intermediate School
Basketball
basketball.jpg Basketball is played throughout the school year and games are held at either the North Shore Leisure Centre or at AUT, Akoranga Drive, on Monday afternoons/evenings. The competition is organised by Harbour Basketball.

Players are trialled at school and placed in teams of similar ability.  Teams are graded during the first few weeks of games and then play a competition against teams from other North Harbour Intermediate school teams of similar ability.

Parents are responsible for the roles of team manager and coach.  However, a coach from Harbour Basketball may be employed for an extra cost.  Parents are responsible for transporting and helping at games with the score bench and supervision.

Costs may vary but are generally approximately $90.00 per semester.

Players are expected to attend every practice session and every game. Practice times will be determined by the team manager and coach and are usually held at the TGS gym.

Belmont Intermediate provides a basketball singlet which is worn with the school PE shorts, sports shoes and socks. The singlet is returned to school at the end of the season.  Any garment worn under the singlet must be navy blue.  Harbour Basketball are very strict on correct team uniform.

The draw is available on the Harbour Basketball Website: www.harbourbasketball.co.nz or on the school hall noticeboard.
